7 Wedding Photography Tips to Know

4:16 PM Unknown
wedding photography

Photography is the art of capturing moments filled with stories and memories. You can find this in a wedding more than anywhere else. Since wedding is once in a life experience, everyone wants to capture the moments on this big day, especially the couple. This is the reason why wedding and photography go hand in hand.

If time travel was a possibility, we all would have gone back to our wedding day to relive the moment. But that’s out of the question, and the next best option is our wedding photographs.
Remembering old memories is fun and always refreshing, and wedding photos are the best ones. To make sure you take right images, we have prepared 7 wedding photography tips that you should know.

    1. Distance photography

Switch to longer lens and move back further to capture bride and groom’s interaction. This is a great way to start the wedding photo shoot for the couple. Giving them free space means they will be more relaxed and you will be able to capture truly intimate moments. When you are right on their face all the time, either one of them or both can get self-conscious and you won’t be able to take fresh and personal shots. Make the couple feel more at ease to take beautiful pictures. Photographer shouldn’t be the reason for distraction especially during the wedding ceremony, so distance photography is a better idea in certain circumstances on the big day.

    2. Photograph the couple

This is a must in wedding photography. A photographer may miss out on taking pictures of guests, but he/she should not miss taking pictures of the couple and single shots of the bride and the groom. Let the couple sit down in a beautiful setting away from the crowd, it can be indoor, outdoor or if you guys have time to spare take photographs in both settings. Wedding day can be hectic, so if feasible do the couples’ photo shoot before the guests arrive and the start of the ceremony. If not do it after the wedding ceremony.

    3. Work with the natural light.

The wedding photographs are much better with natural light. If you are shooting an indoor wedding, ask if you can open doors and windows to let the natural light in. And if you have to work in a night time setting or take pictures of a night time wedding party, carry extra set of flash lights.

    4. Don’t run out of storage or batteries

During a wedding, you have to take hundreds of photographs. This can result in shortage of storage. Be prepared for situations like these. Carry extra set of storage cards. Same thing can be applied in case of batteries. This preparedness reflects your professionalism.

    5. Scout the location.

A photographer should explore different areas within the wedding venue, or different places to have the wedding photo shoot beforehand. Using the setting to come up with creative and unique concept to take the wedding photos is one of the valuable traits of a talented and experienced wedding photographer. Scouting the location early will help you figure out what kind of equipment and gears you will require for the shoot. It allows you to view the elevation of certain location for the wedding, and get important information such as lighting and shadows at the particular time you want to shoot there.

    6. Getting wedding group shots

Ask everyone to gather around for a group shoot and encourage them to give out different poses. Funny faces and candid group shots are fun and full of memories. Getting everyone ready in a spot as you want and taking the perfect photo also defines the skills of a photographer.

    7. Having fun as a photographer

Weddings are all about having fun. The more fun you are having taking photographs at the wedding, the more at ease the guests will be around you. The best way to make people at the wedding comfortable is to smile at them or greet them with smile before taking pictures. You want them to come to you to take the pictures, it will make your job much easier. Think about it, running after guests to take their picture doesn’t sound fun, does it?

Bonus Tip: If anyone at the party offers you drink, say No politely, tell them you are on the job. You are there to work and saying no to alcohol just shows your professionalism. Plus nobody likes a drunk photographer at a wedding or anywhere else for that matter.

Being a professional photographer I have witnessed lots of changes in the field of photography and it is continuously evolving. A wedding photographer’s job is certainly not an easy one. Why Your Business Needs Professional Photography?

3:48 PM Unknown
Running a successful business is not an easy job. You have to worry about different aspects such as payroll, product development, rental expenses and government taxes. However, the main aim of your business is sell the product/service. Without sales, your business is doom to fail, and the hardest part of sales is getting the attention of your customers.

For example, let’s talk about that big McDonald’s board down the street. We all know, it’s sells fast foods which is fried and unhealthy. But whenever you look at that advertisement board, you crave for the juicy Hamburger and those hot, juicy, well-lit fries on the side. There is visual stimulation and all the ingredients are shown in a flattering way. Even just imagining the image waters your mouth, isn’t that right?

What above example presents here is that how a good photograph can affect one’s perception of any product. And the same thing can be used for your business. When you are using visual advertisement to promote your product/service, it should be presented in a good light. If the presentation is not visually appealing, people will start questioning its authenticity and quality.

That’s where professional photography comes in and shows its importance for any business. Every business can benefit greatly from professional photography, even yours. Find out why you need one?

1. A picture is worth a thousand words.

We have often heard this phrase in our life. And it is true. A single photograph can describe the whole scenario. Take for instance, in how many words can you define a McDonald’s burger? I can write an essay on it. But a single picture of that burger alone is worth all those words.
Today, consumers are more inclined to buy products that they find visually appealing. To target such a consumer base, your best option is to use a professional photographer.

2. Media represents your business.

Many business owners tend to take photos for promotional purpose themselves. Whether you take good photographs or not is not the issue here, professional photographers are there for a reason, and it’s for a good reason.
Beautiful Photographs Speaks as We Eat

Remember, your photos has power to represent your business. Low quality and unprofessional photos suggests the business/product/service in itself is of low quality as they (you/company) can’t even take professional looking images, so how can they (you/company) provide high quality business/product/service to the customers.
The photos on your website play an important role when it comes to making strong and favorable first impression on your customers. So, trying to save little bit on cost will only end up hurting your sales and revenues even more.

3. Connect with the customers.

Stock photos are a great alternative for a business when they feel a photo shoot is out of the question. However, stock photos are helpful only in few cases, they lack authenticity and your customers cannot relate to them as stock pictures don’t represent your business.
Whenever a consumer decides to visit your website, they want to get to know you. The best way to communicate is to show your customers actual photos of your business, team/staff and products taken with the help of a professional photographer.

4. Helps in building web presence.

Yes, image plays a huge role in building your web presence. When your potentials are searching products/services similar to yours on the internet, SEO optimised images of your products/services can will pop up in the search results. It will help drive new customers to your website and significantly increase your web traffic. Beautifully taken images help in engaging the customer and keep them on your site for longer period of time. Attractive and relatable photographs have the ability to encourage customers to choose your website over the competitors.

5. Versatile assets.

You may have come across the phrase ‘Content is King’ when trying to promote your business online. And photographs are also a big part of that content. They are powerful and versatile form of content. High quality and well-thought out images make your website engaging. They can be featured in blog posts and articles. You see thousands of beautiful images shared online every day, especially on various social media platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, Imgur and Twitter. You should do the same for your business in order to build a strong brand presence on the internet.
Plus, photos can be used in brochures and flyers. When you invest in professional photography, you provide yourself with new ammunition to stay on top of your competitors.

When it comes to building up a business, professional photos are a must. Keeping that in mind, you shouldn’t rely on stock photographs all the time to showcase your business. 15 Best Corporate Photography Tips You Need To Know in 2017

6:19 PM Unknown

Corporate Photography doesn’t mean you should take photos of men and women in suits and formal attire all day long. Corporate photographs need to define the whole event and tell the story with the main theme in between. There are two types of corporate photography, which includes event and portrait photography. Event photography means taking pictures of employees and guests attending corporate events such as conferences, galas and parties whereas portrait photography means taking pictures of employees for websites and magazines. Here we will provide 15 Best Corporate Photography tips that you need to know for 2017.

1. Corporate photography is not only about shooting pictures of glamorous men and women attending parties all the time. The photographer needs to get accustomed with the event so that he/she can tell the story and theme of the event through the photographs. Note down the decorations beforehand and all the angles that are suitable.

2. Even if you are there just to take photographs, try to blend with the group. Dress accordingly as most corporate events require cocktail attire. Most of the corporate events have strict dress code, so just call the event and ask for the details. It looks really bad when everyone is in dressed for the event and a photographer shows up in jeans and sneakers.

3. Scout the location beforehand, and be prepared to shoot at the minimal lighting conditions. You need to prepare all the equipment that will be required for the job. If you cannot visit the venue, call the organisers and ask about the lighting and venue condition in detail. If possible ask for the photographs previously taken at the same venue.

corporate-photography4. Don’t disturb the conversation just to take a photo. When two people or two parties are having a conversation that seems important, any interruption from the photographer may annoy them which can lead to your bad image. However, when approached in a relaxed environment, you can get photos with all smiles and guests may even pose for you.

5. Don’t pitch in and engage in the conversation with the guests. People may not show that they are bothered or annoyed, but it is an inappropriate thing to do. If a guest wants your opinion on something, they will automatically ask you themselves.

6. Don’t drink alcohol, even you are offered one. No one likes a drunk photographer taking their pictures. A professional needs to be up to the mark at their job and drunken photography is not professional, of course! Better yet, have a good lunch/dinner before the event. If the event is long, you may miss some important shot while having lunch/dinner in between.

7. Don’t photograph people eating. No one wants to be seen while chewing food. Would you like if somebody photographs you while chewing?

8. Don’t get locked up on taking pictures of people only. Photographers needs to be creative, pay attention to decorations and interior design of the venue as the portrayed theme can speak thousand words about the event.

9. Take the best camera and equipment. It goes without saying that you will need a professional camera, additionally pick up a second one as the backup, if the first one fails. And most important, don’t forget to take extra sets of battery. You don’t want to say that your camera is dead if someone asks to take their picture.

portrait-photography10. External flash, unless you are shooting in a day light, is a must. Camera’s inbuilt flash is not sufficient and you don’t want to be shooting with direct flash. Make sure that you get a flash that has an adjustable head as you can bounce flash off white ceiling and walls, creating more natural looking light. If flash photography is prohibited, ask the organiser to increase the amount of ambient light in the room.

11. If you are taking photographs for magazine or website, pick a relevant environment. Photographing for business magazine at a cafeteria or natural environment doesn’t make any sense.

12. During the head shot portrait photography, maintain the subject’s alignment so that the passport type-look can be avoided. Make sure the subject is looking at the camera, posing candid is not an option in head shot portrait photography.

13. Remember, corporate photography isn’t about being creative, it’s about looking professional, and it’s about giving your photograph a professional look. The photograph needs to reflect the corporate look the organization possess. Don’t get carried away with too much of editing.

14. You don’t want your subject to be in bad mood because you were late to the field. Be punctual. If you keep clients waiting, it presents you as an unprofessional.

15. As with all the corporate photography, note down what your client actually wants and expects. Your photography may be of high class but if you don’t get what the client actually wants, your hard work and effort doesn’t have any value.

WY HIRE A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER FOR YOUR WEDDING?

6:33 PM Unknown
professional wedding photographer
Browsing through your old photographs is always refreshing and wedding photos are the best ones. Wedding is one of the most important dates in any person’s life story and capturing those moments to remember by is as important as Living it. It is such a beautiful reminder of a strong, long-lasting love and these memories for brides and grooms to cherish for the rest of their lives. Also, it’s not just not for them but for their children, grandchildren and all the family trees.

We all prioritise what we want to invest in on wedding day. For some, the quality and availability of food and beverages is important whereas some may consider venue is important. Bride and grooms spend so much on their wedding that they should have it all photographed the way it needs to be. A professional photographer knows how to capture the emotions and meaningful moments that passes by the instant. Hiring a professional photographer is as important as flowers is to wedding and side from love it’s the only thing that last forever.

There are many reasons and facts that can convince you to hire a professional photographer your wedding but who can reason it more than a professional photographer themselves.

1. Good photography is more than just a fancy camera and huge lenses. Camera cannot read the lights and color correctly, it’s the photographer that makes it do it.  Professional photographers doesn’t use auto filters, they love to play with the natural colors manually. So, if you want that beautiful photograph your new husband or wife amazingly back lit by a red sunset, professional photographer is the way to go.

need of professional wedding photographer
2. Wedding stories are told better in a pictorial form, and one needs experience to capture the emotions that overflows during ceremony. Just imagine the bride’s emotions when a groom extends his emotions towards her and that “I DO” moment and those emotions on her parents face, to capture those, one need s experience and true professionalism.

3. Wedding expression, is one of the main reason you need a professional photographer for your wedding. For example, if you see a cheap skill photograph, what do you think that wedding was like?  How can you juggle your memories with those low sub-standard photos? How will you remember what the flowers looked like, what will your lasting memories of the guests be on your wedding day, the amazing dress you wore for that one day.

4. Hiring a family member or friend for the photography business seems to be a good idea at first, but believe me it doesn’t work the way we imagine. There is a huge difference in professional and a hobby, and we can see the difference clearly. There always is the commitment issue, will they quit all the drinking and laughing fun, the guests have in wedding for photography? And chances are that your friend or family members won’t be present in important moments and the shots will be lost as your friend gets bored and wanders off to enjoy themselves.

5. Assurance is one the prominent quality that a professional provides that no other can provide. Professionals are always prepared for the worst, they have backup camera, batteries, memory cards and all they need to assure that nothing goes wrong. Knowing that you professionals have their back, bride and grooms can relax and enjoy their day and you can look forward to the awesome photographs.
wedding photography

6. Happiness is what quality photographs bring. Complimenting a bride is always a good thing on her wedding day and nothing compliments how a bride looks more than a good photograph. And as everyone says-“Happy wife, happy life”, the motto can achieved. Better hire a professional rather than regretting it later and facing a sad and angry wife.

If you are cost conscious and looking to save as much money as you can for your big date, one can always spend less on other wedding services. Don’t sacrifice your wedding photographs, because at the end of the day those flowers and food will all be gone except for the photographs. If you ever want to look back on your favorite day, you’ll always have it by your side. They’ll be the lasting proof of one of the most important event that took place in your life, so getting it right on first time should be a priority.

ADELAIDE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | SHARNI & BROCK’S WEDDING DAY STORY

4:08 PM Unknown

On the morning of the 3rd of January 2014, I was at home pottering away when I received a phone call at midday from a dear friend and fellow photographer.
It was the very calm voice of Ali on the other end of the line just saying hi and asking me what I was up to during the afternoon.
“Oh, not much.” was my reply.
“So”, continued Ali. “How would you feel about second shooting for a wedding this afternoon?”.
Oh my goodness – this was a first. Ali’s husband, Alex, had taken ill and felt he needed support. Ali, also a photographer, usually shoots with Alex but was needed at home to look after their adorable six-month-old daughter.
I have to be honest that I was in no way prepared – and I hadn’t even done my hair!!
“Ok” I said, “what time and where?”. Festivities were to commence at the Hotel Intercontinental at 1.30pm.
Alex then called at 12.30pm saying that it was probably best that he didn’t go at all; at that moment I switched from second shooter mode to primary shooter mode.
Alex gave me a run-down of the afternoon and to my absolute pleasure he told me that Brock and Sharni were going to do a ‘first look’.
The wedding day ‘first look’ is very popular in America but not done so much here in Australia. I had never before had the pleasure to photograph this sweet event.

Adelaide Wedding Photographer | Janelle and Dehane

3:53 PM Unknown

When I look back over the photos of Janelle and Dehanes wedding day, they make me smile.
On what was an extremely hot day day here in Adelaide on the 17th of January, 2014; in fact, the temperature gauge rose to around 44 degrees celcius, Janelle and Dehane’s wedding ceremony was celebrated at the St Ignatius College Chapel, followed by a very intimate reception the Adelaide Hills at the beautiful Mt Lofty House.
“So”, I hear you saying, “how does 44 degrees make you smile??”
Everything seems to pale in comparison when at the end of a long, hot day and you receive words of kindness and gratitude from people whom you have only met just a few hours before.

Adelaide Wedding Photographer | Kym and Dale

3:32 PM Unknown

I first met Kym and Dale in November 2013 when they made a speedy week-end trip Adelaide to coordinate the plans for their wedding day.
These two wonderful people live in Perth WA and, due to family connections, chose to celebrate their marriage union in the beautiful Adelaide Hills at Mt Lofty House. Just between you and me…… I am over the moon to have been the one chosen to tell the story of their incredible day.
On the 6th of March, 2014, Kym and Dale were married in an emotion charged forenoon ceremony which was followed by an intimate luncheon reception where they were surrounded by their closest family and friends.

1:54 PM Unknown

One of the most important things that couples are looking for is affordable wedding photography Adelaide.  A decent wedding photographer can cost a lot of money, so it is a large portion of the budget that couples will spend on their wedding.  Aside from that, these memories are generally something that will happen once in a lifetime, so it is important that you hire the right photographer that will take the right pictures to capture your special day.

When you are thinking about professional photography in Adelaide, you want to be certain that you choose a photographer that has some experience in taking photos, having done many successful photo shoots of weddings just like yours.  When you hire a photographer for your wedding they are going to want to meet with you in advance of your wedding one or more times.  This will be to review the location that you will be having your pictures taken at, to go over a list of pictures that you want taken (with mom, with dad, with family, with friends and group pictures).

Hiring a photographer for wedding photography in Adelaide should not be something that is difficult, but it will take some time to find the right photographer.  Be sure to call several photographers, meet with them and get a feel for them.  You want to be able to work with the photographer and have a certain relationship with them.  They need to know what you are looking for as far as pictures are concerned.  A good photographer will have several cameras in case one malfunctions and they have an assistant or two to ensure that everything is taken care of.

One of the best things about photography in Adelaide is that there are so many amazing locations for pictures to be taken.  Where are you planning to have the wedding?  Get in touch with a local photographer to take your wedding pictures and ensure that all of your memories are completely captured because there will not be another chance in the future to go back and get the pictures.  Choosing affordable wedding photography Adelaide is important because you want to know that your day is remembered for years and decades into the future.

When you start looking around at photographers for wedding photography in Adelaide, you should consider many things including what your budget is, how much time will be needed (from the time when you are arriving at your wedding to the end of the reception) because hourly rates can vary and some photographers may charge extra for staying longer (not a flat rate).  You will want to see examples of work that the photographer has done so that you can get a feel for their style.  Take your time choosing your photographer because you cannot go back on your choice.  It is something that is important and takes careful consideration.  Your wedding day is very important, so choose the right candidate for wedding photography in Adelaide because you want to preserve your memories for a lifetime.

2:39 PM Unknown

Your wedding day is special because not only it is the day when you swear your everlasting love oath, but also the day of your memories. These are memories worth to remember for your entire life, both in your mind and printed images. They are not just images because for centuries, they have been forging couple’s love even in the darkest moment of their wedding. Therefore, if you truly love your couple and want to keep your love forever, then archiving the memories in the images is something you should do, especially when you can do it quickly and easily, with the help of wedding photography in Adelaide.
Your first step will be choosing your wedding photographer. Let us make it clear: you should only hire a trusted photographer from trusted Australian wedding photography. The person you will hire will spend the whole day capturing the moment. So, let us make sure he/she has the ability to capture the right moment at the right time and place. For this reason, your best option is contemporary photography.
Unlike conventional photography style, contemporary wedding ‘prefers’ to capture the images in ‘journalistic’ style, resulting in a better candid photography style, than the images we used to take. Sometimes, it can even catch some moments you forgot were exist that day.
Wedding photography in Adelaide offers three types of contemporary photography, including artistic, photo-journalistic, and traditional photography. While photo-journalistic is documentary style of wedding photos, traditional photography focuses on formal-style photos. On the other side, artistic photography concerns on adding artistic touches to your images.
Here are some of my tips if you are planning to use Australian wedding photography. First, let us make sure there is always a good background for your images. Make it simple and something you love. Therefore, it will be perfect for your images, for example a place without obstructive layers and clutter.
Next, ask your previously married friends about their advices on wedding photos. Learn their experiences and use it to make your photos better than them.
Now, remember that glasses you or your couple wears will cause intense spot in your wedding photos. So, let us remove it for a while. Well, there are other minor tips regarding the best shot, but they totally depend on your favour. Therefore, do not forget to discuss it with the man from the wedding photography in Adelaide. Make him/she understands your needs.
The last tip is your wedding photos should be the reflection of your own personalities and love.

There are many moments in your big day worth to remember, such as the cake cutting, procession to the altar, and many else. Make sure all these moments will take presence in your wedding photos. Do not be afraid of how many images your photographer should take because you will have more than enough time to choose which images you will keep.
Let us remember this: trust you build with your selected Australian wedding photography will determine the result.

2013 Aipp SA Professional Photography Awards Silver Awards Portrait

1:55 PM Unknown

Most definitely, my most successful category this year at the awards was the portrait category. I have put a lot of work and effort into this genre and I was extremely pleased with the outcome. Out of four prints entered, I achieved a 50% strike rate with two print both achieving Silver Awards.
I simply cannot go past this without showing the two prints that ‘just’ got away, missing out by only one point to get up to an award. Both of the images included below achieved a score of 79, but most certainly were not the losers on the day. Each image brought about a challenge from one of the judges at the time, and I was thrilled with the discussions that ensued.
What this does for me is re-fuel my energy and gives me the encouragement to strive for that next level and to continue to improve my skills. My ultimate aim from each of my portraits is to tell a story about who you are; this, in turn, will continue to tell the story in the future about who you were.

2013 Aipp SA Professional Photography Awards Silver Award Documentary

6:36 PM Unknown

A few months ago, I enjoyed a stroll around the South Australian Museum taking a few photos for my own personal collection. It was great to see a group of monks enjoying the exhibits and they just seemed so genuinely interested and yet quite bemused by it all.
This image was one of my favourites for the day, so much so that I decided to enter it into the 2013 Epson AIPP South Australian Professional Photography Awards.
After some discussion regarding the print from the judging panel, I was thrilled that it achieved a Silver Award for the Documentary category.
There were a few more images from that day and I thought it might be nice to share them here too.

Adelaide Family Photographer, Tita's Family

6:28 PM Unknown

I love how we journey through life and meet people along the way; for whatever reason it is that we cross the path of another, life truly is a domino effect. Through the life of one, something else occurs that causes and introduction or a reaction.
The event that led me to meeting Tia was shrouded with extreme sadness, and out of this sadness has spawned what has amounted to possibly thousands of encounters such as mine and Tia’s. I speak of the devastating shooting that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut that took the lives of many and in particular, a little girl called Olivia.
‘The Olivia Act’ was born out of the selfless thoughts of one photographer who wanted to give the gift of memories. Olivia’s family had professional portraits taken a short time before she was so sadly taken. Those pictures are now precious and priceless. Upon hearing this, the photographer was moved to give away a family photo shoot and had challenged other photographers to do the same. We go about our daily lives and sometimes we don’t have the time or have the resources to have family photos taken.
Tia was nominated to be gifted such a family photo shoot.
This photo shoot was something quite special and also quite different from what I have done before. It seemed that from the beginning, this was going to tell a story and that’s exactly what I had envisioned. This was all about the fun of being a family, being at home with those who matter the most and more importantly just being who you are.
Thank you Jenni for nominating Tia and for giving her the path to this gift.
This is Tia’s story; this is Tia’s family.
